Mosquito Repellant Bracelet

 Ingredients:

1 C. witch hazel
15 drops citronella essential oil
15 drops lemongrass essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops peppermint essential oil

Directions:

  1. Add witch hazel and essential oils to a spray bottle.
  2. Shake to combine.
  3. Spray the essential oil mixture onto both sides of a paracord bracelet until it is thoroghly saturated.
  4. Set aside to dry.

Homemade Vapor-Rub

 Ingredients:

1/2 C. olive oil, coconut oil, or almond oil
2 T. beeswax pastilles
20 drops of Eucalyptus Oil
20 drops Lavender Oil
10 drops Rosemary Oil

Directions:

  1. Melt beeswax with oil of choice in a double boiler until just melted.
  2. Add the essential oils (use half the amount for a baby version or dilute with canola oil before using).
  3. Stir until will mixed and pour into some type of container with a lid to store.  Little tins work well, as do small jars.
  4. Use as needed to help sooth coughing and congestion.

Healthy Scalp Recipe

Ingredients:
10 drops Lavender essential oil
10 drops Rosemary essential oil
10 oz. water.

Directions:
Combine all 3 ingredients.
Spray on hair.

Detangling Conditioner

Ingredients:
1 T. apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
spray bottle

Directions:

  1. Add apple cider vinegar a clean spray bottle with water.
  2. Spry damp hair and massage in thoroughly with hands.

Homemade Pain Relieving Cream

Ingredients:
1/2 c. Coconut Oil
2 t. Beeswax pellets
5 drops Camphor oil
5 drops Peppermint oil

5 drops Eucalyptus oil
Directions:
  1. Melt coconut oil and beeswax pellets. (I use a double boiler)
  2. Stir until melted.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool, but not to set up.
  4. Add the essential oils and stir.
  5. Pour into a small container and allow to cool completely.
Note:  Since coconut oil is the dominant ingredient, this will melt if kept in a warm place.

Basic Lip Balm

Ingredients:
1 t. beeswax
2 t. coconut oil
2 drops vitamin E oil
2-3 drops flavor oil

Instructions:
Melt beeswax and coconut oil.
Stir in vitamin E oil.
Add flavor oil
Place in tube or pot.

Note:  This can be made without the flavor oil if you don't have any on hand.

Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

This is a handy shampoo to combat dandruff or scalp build up.

What You Will Need:
  • 1 Bottle Shampoo (preferably dye and fragrance free)
  • 1 Bottle Tea Tree Oil
  • Dropper
Directions:
  1. Using a dropper, add 2 drops of tea tree oil per ounce of shampoo.
  2. Replace the shampoo bottle cap and shake well to mix.
  3. Shake shampoo before each use.
  4. Use shampoo as you normally would.
Notes:
  • Do not ingest tea tree oil.
  • Do not use tea tree oil undiluted
  • Watch for allergic reactions, especially if it is your first time using tea tree oil.
  • Do Not use tea tree oil if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
  • As with any essential oils, use with caution.

Lemon and Lavender Cuticle Cream

Ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Shea Butter
½ oz. Cocoa Butter
¼ oz. Beeswax
½ tsp. Vitamin E Oil or Coconut Oil
5 drops Lemon Essential Oil
5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

Directions:
  1. Add the butters, beeswax and coconut oil (if using) to the double boiler, and heat gently to melt, stirring occasionally.
  2. When fully melted, turn off heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Before cuticle balm starts to solidify add the vitamin E oil (if using) and essential oils.
  4. Mix gently to combine ingredients and pour into your container.
  5. Leave to fully cool and set.
Use daily, and when your cuticles need a little extra moisturizer.  Keep in mind that a little goes a long way.
